What if your presence is the ingredient that transforms ordinary to extraordinary?
Over the weekend, my kids performed in a theater production they've been working on since January. Whether it’s on or off stage, watching their hard work always fills me with such pride.
After the show on opening night, both jazzed from a great first performance, they both commented on how "awesome" the audience was. Curious, I asked what made the audience so great. Weren't we simply responding to their performance?
But it has made me think. They felt our attention, energy, enthusiasm. We weren't passive observers simply there to be entertained; we were active participants creating a feedback loop that actually impacted their performance.
Here’s what I was reminded of: the energy we bring affects every environment: whether it's the stage, the boardroom, the coffee meet-up, the family discussion, or keynote presentation. The energy of our presence creates powerful ripples.
Are you conscious of how your energy impacts outcomes and others' performances? The energy you choose to bring might be the difference between a good meeting and a great one.
