Identity is The Bridge to Authentic Belonging
What if we approached identity not as another layer of complexity, but as a bridge to trust? Instead of seeing our differences as barriers, what if we viewed them as doorways to connection?
These questions often surface in my conversations about leadership and belonging.
Identity is not about creating more boxes to check – it's about acknowledging the fullness of who we are and who others are. It's about making space for people to show up wholly, authentically, without apology, shame or fear.
Signals of identity may sometimes feel like stopsigns - or “let’s not go there” topics. But what if we treated identity as an invitation rather than a complication?
When we consider that our approach to identity may have been more about checking boxes and less about seeing others as they see themselves, we create room for belonging.
