You decide what gets your attention
I did something simple last month that feels revolutionary: I turned off notifications on my phone.
Then I kept going. Replied STOP from those daily discount texts. Hit "unsubscribe" on emails I'd been ignoring for months. Stopped the constant pings demanding my attention. I got to decide what was urgent.
I realized I'd been reacting to everyone else's timeline more than my own. Every notification was someone else's priority becoming my distraction. Every alert was pulling me away from being present.
I have to say, the difference is pretty profound. Without the noise, important emails rose to the top instead of getting buried and triple-booked afternoons had breathing room.
We're so used to being accessible to everyone that we become inaccessible to ourselves. When everything is a distraction, nothing gets the attention it deserves.
Is there something you could unsubscribe from today to reclaim your timeline?
